Jack’s produce season best times again!
Continuing their push towards the conference meet in two weeks, the Northland LumberJacks once again made great strides by lowering their times at the WI private schools championships hosted by Milwaukee School of Engineering. Leading the Jacks, as he has all year, was Junior Bryce Henry who ran the 8K course in a season best time of 29:20. He was followed by Sophomore Max Metz (30:46), Junior Christopher Gosciank (30:56), First Year Antony Frater (30:56), and Sophomore Will Schlager (31:56) for the team scoring. “Our top five all had fantastic races, taking around 30 seconds off of their times from last week’s race which was run on a very fast course.” Comments Head Coach Dave Beeksma. “Our challenge now is to have all five under 30 minutes at the conference meet in two weeks.” Sophomore Marty Schoofs (32:44), First Year Jared Ursin (32:52), Sophomore Kevin Robertson (33:12), First Year Noel Cockney (33:25), and First Year Dan Hoffmann (37:49) also competed in the meet. The men’s championship was won by Ripon College and the individual champion was Zach Shiels of Wisconsin Lutheran. The UMAC conference meet is up next for the Jacks on Saturday, November 1st at the University of Minnesota-Morris.
