WI private - women
Women's team off to a good start

Jills continue to improve at they push towards the conference meet.

The Northland Women’s Cross Country team continued to make strides at the WI private school champtionships this past Saturday hosted by the Milwaukee School of

Engineering.  Sophomore Francesca Pascale continues to be the team leader finishing the 5K race in 29th place with a time of 21:46.  She was followed by First Year Bonnie Johnson (22:10), Sophomore Amanda Strick (22:36), First Year Emily Schlager (23:18), and Sophomore Cassie Bodette (24:58) to complete the team scoring.  First Year Anna Trickey (28:10) also competed.  “We have had a lot of injuries and illness this year, but the Women are really coming on strong.”  States Head Coach Dave Beeksma.  “Two of our women were out sick today and another had school conflicts that prevented her from making the trip, but over all our performance was solid.  The women normally run 6K races and our times today were comparable to season best times for that distance, so we are very excited about how we will run at the conference meet in two weeks.”  The women’s championships was won by Beloit College who were led by individual champion Jessica Davey with a time of 19:18.  The Jills next competition will be this Friday at Valhalla against Finlandia University.
