Hannah Fanney once again leads Jills

Northland College LumberJacks and LumberJills competed this weekend at the Wisconsin Private College Cross-country Championships in Ripon, Wisconsin.  This was their fourth race of the season.  12 teams raced on the men’s side and 15 teams on the women’s side.  

The winning team on the women’s side was Viterbo University with 66 points.  They also had the overall winner, Bea Foley, with a time of 23:22.  The Northland Lumberjills finished 11th with 246 points.  Northland’s team was led by first year runner Hannah Fanney in a time of 26:20.  This was her season best and put her in 30th overall.  Finishing second for the team was another first year, Katherine Boyk, in a season best 27:46.  Third place on the team came from sophomore Bonnie Johnson.  She also ran a season best of 28:12.  Finishing fourth was another good race from first year Sam Lucheck (29:30).  Rounding out the top five was sophomore Aubree Meyer in a time of 30:53.  Finishing up for the Northland Lumberjills was Stacia Macy in a time of 33:07, and Anna Rix with a season best time of 34:46.  Up next for the LumberJills is their conference race at Crown College, which will be on October 31st.

After a day of many season and personal bests, the Northland runners continue to work hard, train hard, and prepare to make a run at the Conference title.
