The young LumberJacks played much better on Sunday as they took on the top seeded UM-Morris Cougars. The Cougars scored 3 first-half goals to take the lead, and finished with 2 more in the second half for a 5-0 final. Coach Scott Mayforth said he was proud of the way his young squad played on Sunday against a much more veteran Cougar team. The loss moves Northland's overall record to 2-8-0 and their UMAC record to 1-6-0.
Matt Fryer (Sr. Carpentersville, Ill.) made 18 saves in net for the Jacks. The LumberJacks will start the second half of their conference schedule Friday October 9th as they travel to Martin Luther for a 3 p.m. start.
