Three LumberJills received post season honors today as the UMAC named their 1st Team All-Conference players along with UMAC Honorable Mention. The LumberJills finished the season with an overall record of 15-18. They went 9-5 in UMAC play and finished third in the regular season before losing to eventual Conference Tournament Champs St. Scholastica in the semifinals. Two Jills were named to the 1st Team: Melissa Anderson and Laura Fisher. Chelsea Lundgren was named Honorable Mention.
Melissa Anderson is a senior from Brooklyn Park Minnesota. This season Melissa was the Captain for the Jills and helped lead them to their highest regular season finish since joining the UMAC. Melissa had 282 kills, 16 service aces, 428 digs and 55 blocks. She is the all-time leader in kills with 1,278, she is also the all-time leader in digs with 1,548. Melissa will graduate this spring with a degree in elementary education with a minor in psychology.
Laura Fisher is a junior from Green Bay Wisconsin. Laura led the Jills with 288 kills. She also tallied 15 service aces, 55 digs and 108 blocks. Laura is an english major and marketing minor at Northland.
Chelsea Lundgren is a senior from Crosby Minnesota. Chelsea tallied 250 kills this year including the 1,000th of her career, she is one of two LumberJills to complete this feat. Chelsea also led the Jills with 150 blocks setting a LumberJill single season record and leading the UMAC. For her career Chelsea tallied 419 blocks which is the most all-time for the Jills. Chelsea also set a single match record for blocks with 12 this season vs. Northwestern. Chelsea will graduate with a degree in Psychology, with minors in business and coaching.
