Senior, Aurora Albrecht (Cadott, Wis.), Juniors Brittany Schmitt (Abbotsford, Wis.) and Asia DeVlaeminck (Mankato, Minn.) were all named to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC)  All Conference 1st Team for the 2009 Season.  Freshman Kylie Garing  (Nordland, Wash.) earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

Albrecht had an outstanding senior season, hitting .439 in UMAC play with eight doubles, and 31 RBI.   Albrecht also led the UMAC in Sacrifice Flies this season with six.   Schmitt had an outstanding season both at bat and in the circle, hitting .410 with 32 hits (second in the UMAC).  She  led the UMAC in wins (12) and was second in strikeouts (64).  DeVlaeminck hit .515, and lead the UMAC in both hits (35) and RBI (33).  Garing  batted .377 with five doubles and one homerun in her first collegiate season.

Schmitt and DeVlaeminck were also named to the All-Defensive Team at pitcher and first base respectively.  This was Schmitt’s third time being named the UMAC All-Defensive Pitcher.  DeVlaeminck led the UMAC in chances (169) and put outs (155).

Team awards have also been announced for the LumberJills.  Brittany Schmitt was named LumberJill Pitcher of the Year while Aurora Albrecht was named Player of the Year.  Freshmen Kylie Garing and Ashleigh Miller shared the Rookie of the Year award while Shon Givens and Chrissy Dvorscak received the Coaches’ Award.

The LumberJills had another outstanding season, finishing second in the UMAC.

“This was a very fun year for me as a coach,” commented Head Coach Steve Wammer, “this team worked really hard and worked very well together.”
