Senior Bryce Henry, running a strong and consistent race, paced the Jack’s this Saturday at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota. Henry’s time of 30:03 is his best of the season and best ever for a Griak race. “Bryce stepped up today and showed his experience. His solid pace throughout the race paid off with a fantastic time.” Comments Head Coach Dave Beeksma. First Year Joe Zant followed Henry with a time of 31:04. “Joe’s inexperience showed today, it is a good learning experience for him as he transitions from high school running to the collegiate level.” Henry and Zant were followed by Senior Christopher Goscinak (31:23), First Year Kelsey Barra (32:30), and Junior Tom Lamppa (32:38). “The boys went out very fast, Chris and Kelsey almost blew up their race in the first mile, but recovered to have a solid race. It was a good learning experience for them as well.” States Coach Beeksma. First year John Grunde (33:06), Sophomore Noel Cochney (35:39), Junior Kevin Robertson (36:28), and Sophomore Jared Ursin (36:44) also competed for Northland.
