Northland’s women’s Cross Country team placed 33rd out of 37 teams this Saturday at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota. Once again leading the Jills was First Year Hannah Fanney who finished with a time of 27:25. “Hannah is been very consistent this year, she had a solid race today and looks to improve her time significantly as we head into the second half of our season.” State Head Coach Dave Beeksma. Following Fanney we fellow first year’s Katherine Boyk (28:27), Samantha Lucheck (28:58), Sophomores Bonnie Johnson (28:58), and Aubree Meyer (32:29). Stacia Macy (32:48) and Anna Rix (37:17) also competed for the Jills. “I am very proud of the women, most of the ladies ran a season best time today and that is saying something because the Graik course is tough to run.” Comments Coach Beeksma. “I am excited to see their continued improvement over the next several weeks. We ran without top five runner Emily Schlager and still improve our team score, it has been and will continue to be a very fun season to coach.”
