The LumberJacks beat Southwestern University of Arizona 81-77 in game one of the Purple and Gold Classic played at Whittier College. The Jacks get their third of the season after shooting almost 60% from the floor in the second half. The Jacks held an eight point lead at the half and came out hot after the break. Southwestern also came out hot from the three point line making 10 of 12 to keep themselves in the game. The Jacks would make some clutch free throws shooting over 70% for the game to ice the win. Ryan Cannata (Sr. Nashwauk, Minn.) led the Jacks with 20 points, Zeb Woiak (Jr. Nekoosa, Wis.) added 16 points and 6 rebounds. The Jacks will play Whittier in the Championship game on January 3rd starting at 8:05 p.m.
