The LumberJack hockey team was swept by the Bethel University Royals.  The Jacks lost Monday's game 5-4 in OT and then dropped game two on Tuesday night 6-3.  The loss moves the Jacks to 2-10-0 overall on the season.  The Royals would grab the early lead scoring at the 8:20 mark.  Northland would respond with two unanswered goals to take a 2-1 lead after one period of play.  Kraig Wright (Fr. Corunna, ON) would get the Jacks first goal on assists from Colin McIntosh (So. Calgary, AB) and Nick Doiron (So. Chateau-Richer Quebec.).   The second LumberJack goal of the period was scored by Nicholas Hewko (Fr. Hamilton, ON); he was assisted by Chad Moore (Jr. Ardrie, AB) and Nick Matson (Jr. Hanover, Minn.).  The Royals would score three times in the second to take a 4-1 lead until Matson scored his third goal of the year to make it 4-2 in favor of Bethel.  Joe Belanger (Sr. Ashland, Wis.) and Brian Zwawa (Sr. Hamburg, N.Y.) would pick up assists on the goal.  That would be as close as the Jacks would get as the Royals scored two more goals in the third for the 6-3 final.  Daniel McIntosh (Jr. Calgary, AB) made 40 saves in the loss for the Jacks.  Northland will be off until January 12th when they will host St. Scholastica in a non-conference matchup at the Bay Area Civic Center.  The puck will drop at 7 p.m.
