Box Score
The LumberJacks have struggled at times this season starting strong from the on sat of game and tonight was the same story as the visiting Presentation College Saints jumped out to an early 11-2 lead. The Saints would not stop there as they would build a lead up to 17 as Richie Ward would have phenomenal half scoring 22 points.
The Jacks would start to dig their heals in and chip away slowly at the lead. The Jacks would step up the defense and knock down some shots to get the lead down to 7 at the half, 43-36. The Saints shot well in the first half shooting nearly 60% from the floor. The Jacks were almost as good finally finding their rhythm and shooting 53.6 %.
Joey Brennan (Jr. Ashland, Wis.) would help lead the charge that would get the Jacks to within one point of the lead 45-44 with 13:47 to go in the game. Less than a minute later another Brennan jumper would tie the game at 46-46. The Jacks would then take the lead when freshmen Zach Fahrenkrug (Menasha, Wis.) nailed a three from the left arc. The lead would not last long for Northland as the Saints would go on an 11-2 run to put them up by 8 with 7:22 to go in the game. The Jacks would get it back down to 3 late in the game but poor free-throw shooting would not allow them to tie or re-take the lead. Brennan had 11 points, 8 assists and 3 rebounds for Northland. Michael Mackey (Jr. Holmen, Wis.) also was in double-digits for the Jacks with 13 points. Coming off the bench for Northland was Lance Bressette (So.
