The LumberJack hockey team lost to the Lawrence University Vikings 5-3 in game two of their MCHA playoff series. The Vikings won the series two games to none and will move on to face Adrian College next weekend in the semifinals of the MCHA playoffs. The Jacks got on the scoreboard first as Chad Moore continued to play well on the weekend scoring a goal 5:34 into the game. Kraig Wright assisted Moore on the goal. The Vikings would score a goal of their own five minutes later to tie the game at one. The game would stay tied until 12:56 to go in the second period when the Vikings would take the lead 2-1. They would get one more in the second period to take a 3-1 lead into the third period. They would make it 4-1 scoring on a power play in the third before Moore would strike again scoring his second goal of the game to get it back to a two goal game at 4-2. The Vikings would make it a goal game once again at the 15 minute mark. Moore would complete his hat trick and get the Jacks to within two goals with less than a minute left in the game. That would be as close as the Jacks would get, as the Vikings moved on with the 5-3 win. The hat trick for Moore gave him 12 goals on the season, while Kraig Wright and Nick Doiron each picked up two assists on the game. The Jacks finish the season with an overall record of 5-21-1 and a MCHA record of 5-14-1.
