The LumberJacks got two good pitching performances by Jeremy Snow and Peter Aerts but did not play good defense behind them as they dropped two to Anna Maria College of MA. The losses drop the Jacks to 0-4 on the spring trip.
In game one the Jacks starting to get the offense going as they were able to get 8 runs across the plate. The Jacks defense did not fare as well as they committed 6 errors allowing Anna Maria to score 12 unearned runs in the ball game. Jeremy Snow went 4.1 innings and keep the Jacks in the game. Of the 12 runs he gave up only 2 were earned. Snow also struck out four batters. The offense for the Jacks was paced by Matt Tanneberg who went 2-3 including a 3-run homerun in the 6th inning. Cody Carroll added two hits and two RBI's and Dan Salewski also added two RBI's of his own.
In game two the Jacks received another solid performance on the mound from freshmen Peter Aerts. Aerts pitched 5 innings striking out 6. The Jacks struggled again in the field early in the game as they spotted Anna Maria 5 runs in the top half of the 1st inning. The Jacks would get themselves back in the ball game in the 3rd inning as Tanneberg and Carroll knocked in two runs with RBI singles. The Offense would come alive again in the 6th inning as they plated 4 more runs. Bryce Szymanski would get the inning going by reaching on an error and Carroll would add another single to put two runner on for Dan Salweski who doubled home Szymanski. Ryan Johnson would hit an RBI ground out to score Carroll. Back to back walks would load the bases for Snow who singled home two runs on a base hit to right center. Carroll would lead the offense with three hits, Snow added two RBI's and Salweski had two hits and an RBI.
