LumberJacks split a double header with the Finlandia Lions on the road today. The Jacks won game one 8-4 and lost the night cap 7-6. The Split now moves the Jacks to 7-25 on the season.
The Jacks would score early and often in game one as Elliott Snow earned his first collegiate win going five innings. Josh Spiegel picked up the save with 2 innings of relief. The Jacks would push a run across in the first when Ryan Johnson scored on a passed ball after singling. The Jacks would add another in the 2nd on a RBI double by Jeremy Snow. Northland would add two more runs in the 3rd when Johnson hit his first collegiate homerun. Carroll followed Johnson with a home run to right. The Jacks would break the game open with 4 runs in the fourth. Bryce Szymanski and Carroll had RBI hits during the inning. Carroll finished the game 4-4 with 2 doubles a home run and 2 RBI's. Johnson had two hits including his home run. Jeremy Snow had two hits and two RBI's for the Jacks.

The Jacks would jump out to an early lead in game two before the Lions rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th for the 7-6 win. Szymanski doubled to get things going in the 1st. Carroll continued to stay hot as he brought home Szymanski with a double of his own. Josh Spiegel then brought home Carroll with a single through the right side. The Jacks would add two more runs in the 3rd to build a 4-0 lead. The Lions would get on the scoreboard with a run in the bottom part of the inning. Carroll would hit his second home run of the double header in the 5th to put the Jacks up 5-1. The Lions made it 5-4 with three runs in the bottom of the inning. The Jacks would take a 6-4 advantage to the 7th. The Lions would make it 6-5 before getting the tying run to second and winning run at first with two outs. The Lions would then hit a double just out of the reach of center fielder Bryce Szymanski for the 7-6 walk-off win.
The Jacks will be back in action at home on May 6th when they host North Central University for a double header starting at 2:30 p.m.
