The Northland LumberJacks Cross Country team competed at the Bethany Lutheran Invitational on Wednesday, Sept. 1st at Land of Memories Park in Mankato, MN. Led by Sophomore Joe Zant (21st place, 30:22), the Jacks finished fifth out of five teams with 130 points in the 8K race. Gustavus Adolphus won the team title with a score of 26 followed by Carleton with 45, Bethany Lutheran with 87, and Martin Luther with 91. Sophomore Kelsey Barra was Northland’s #2 runner finishing 40th (32:48) followed by Sophomore Logan Dunn (45th, 34:13), Senior Tom Lamppa (48th, 35:39), Sophomore John Grunde (49th, 36:04), Senior Kevin Robertson (52nd, 39:58), and Junior Jared Ursin (55th, 48:01). Nick Ross of Gustavus Adolphus took the individual title with a time of 26:58. The Jacks next race is Sept. 11th at the Campus Quest meet hosted by UMD.
