Led all season long by Sophomore, Francesca Pascale, all of the Jills produced their personal best times when it really counted.  Pascale ran the 6K course in 26:06 and was followed by First Years Bonnie Johnson (26:49), Emily Schlager (26:55), and Erin Blow (27:50).  Sophomore Cassie Bodette and First Year Lorriane Wolfe both finished in 29:44.  First Year Anna Trickey completed the team scoring with a time of 33:46.  “The team ran great today.”  States Head Coach Dave Beeksma, “I am really proud of what this young team has accomplished this year.  We were without Sophomore Captain Amanda Strick today due to an unfortunate accident last week resulting in a fractured ankle.  If Strick would have been able to run, we would have met our goal of having our top five runners all under 28 minutes this year.”  The race was run in 15-20 mile per hour winds that made the going touch when the runners had to head directly into them.  With such a young team, the future is exciting for the Jills.  “We should have our top seven back for the next two years and they will only get better over that time.”  Comments Coach Beeksma, “I can’t wait to get back at it next fall! These are fantastic young people who work very hard.”
