Ashland, WI- The LumberJills concluded the annual Northland College Tournament on Saturday going 1-1, beating Silver Lake College 3-0 and falling in a tight match to Finlandia University 3-1.

The LumberJills flexed their muscles in game 1 vs. Silver Lake College winning in 3 sets (25-7, 25-13, 25-14). Senior Camille Eastburn led the way for the Jills in kills with 8, while Freshman Taylor Wiegert would have 6. Wiegert would also have 17 assists in the contest. Freshman Justine Litherland led the way in digs with 9. 

Game two vs. Finlandia saw a lot of back and forth action between the two teams, but the Jills would ultimately lose in 4 sets (22-25, 22-25, 25-23, 26-24). Once again, Senior Camille Eastburn would lead the team in kills with 15. Closely behind her was Senior Bethany Best with 13. Hannah Hitchcock led the team in assists with 33, while Caitelyn Severson lead with 24 digs. 

"The team played well this weekend and improved their performance from the previous weekend", said Head Coach Kim Falkenhagen.  "That is one of our goals this season and it is great to see.  It was a good, competitive tournament for us as well and I was able to see performances from all players.  Camille Eastburn continues to do a great job for us on the outside hitter position as well as Hannah Hitchcock in the setter spot.  It was also great to see some of the freshmen step up and taking on starting roles."

Concordia Chicago would be the tournament winner on the weekend going a perfect 4-0. Senior Camille Eastburn and Freshman Justine Litherland would both go on to be announced to the All-Tournament Team.
