Ashland, WI- The LumberJill Volleyball team welcomed 5 other teams from throughout the Midwest today to compete in the annual Nothland College Tournament. Northland went 1-1 in their two games on day 1, coming away victorious in game 1 against Rockford University 3-0 and dropped a tough match in game 2 vs. a strong team from Concordia University Chicago losing 3-0.
In game one vs. Rockford, the Jill's dominated early and often winning the first two sets (25-19 & 25-17). The 3rd set saw back and for action between the Jill's and Rockford, tied 22-22 late, the Jill's were able to grind out 3 points to win the 3rd set 25-23 and the match 3-0.
Leading the way for the Jill's in game 1 was Senior
Camille Eastburn who finished game one with 16 kills and Junior
Hannah Hitchcock tacking on 27 assists. Hitchcock and Freshman Justin Litherland would also have 9 digs a piece.

Game 2, the Jill's faced a strong team from Concordia Chicago, losing in the first two sets (25-15 & 25-11). In the third set the Jill's showed a lot of fight keeping things close late tying it up at 24-24 but would come up short dropping the third set 26-24.

Camille Eastburn and Freshman Justin Litherland each had 5 kills a piece. Hitchcock would have 13 assists and Litherland would lead the team in digs with 10.

The Jill's will continue in day two of the Northland College Tournament tomorrow with games at 4:00 P.M. vs. Silver Lake College and 8:00 P.M. vs. Finlandia University.
