The Northland College Baseball team traveled to Duluth, MN today as the #4 seed in the UMAC Conference tournament and would face the #5 seed UW-Superior with the winner advancing to play the #1 seed St. Scholastica. The Jacks would get in a hole early and fall to UW-Superior 14-2.

With two outs in the top of the first inning, Jacks pitcher
Anthony Corrado would give up a two run shot, as UWS would take the early lead. Northland would go down in order in the bottom frame and UWS would explode for 7 runs to take the commanding 9-0 lead. UWS would continue their hot hitting, with runs in the 3rd and 4th innings to make it 11-0.
Anthony Corrado would get the Jacks on the board with an rbi single scoring
Jakob Freele to make it 11-1 but the Yellow Jackets would continue to add runs in the 4th and 5th innings.
Shawn O'Connell would add an rbi single to left center in the 7th inning but that wouldn't be enough as UWS would take the game 14-2.
Anthony Corrado would lead the Jacks at the plate going 2-3 with 1 rbi.
Carson Ferry and
Seth Bayliss would both pitch innings in relief.
With today's loss, the Jacks have been eliminated from the conference tournament and would finish the 2018 season 10-24 (9-7 UMAC).
